Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide.  It tells your brain that it is full and helps your body produce more insulin.  

I will teach you!!  The most common phrase I hear when I help a patient with their first injection is "Oh, I barely even felt that!"  If you are still uncomfortable You are always welcome to come to me for your injection or we can work out me coming to you!

The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain.  The medication is started off on a low dose to lower the chance of having these side effects.  As your body gets used to the medication, these side effects fade and often disappear.  

The average weight loss in the first 6 months is 15-18% of your body weight.  For example, a 200 pound person could expect to lose 30-36 pounds.  This is the average, so some will lose less and some will loose more.

As a general rule I do not treat women's health problems such as PAP smears, irregular menses (periods), endometriosis, pregnancy, and birth control.  For hormone treatment I refer to a specialist.  I do not provide pain control services that include narcotics.
